Under the background of global climate governance and the “dual carbon” goal, urban construction,as the core carrier of carbon emissions, needs to accelerate the construction of its precise carbon accounting system.Based on the analysis of the main content of the current carbon emission accounting methods and the data structure of the carbon emission factor database, this paper analyses the content, objects, and boundary characteristics of urban construction, and identifies the shortcomings of existing carbon emission factor databases.By benchmarking against the field of urban construction, this paper analyses the shortcomings of urban construction carbon emission accounting in terms of its methodological system, accounting objects, boundaries, and basic data, and puts forward suggestions for constructing a dedicated database more suitable for urban construction carbon emission accounting, including establishing a scientific and unified algorithm, defining clear and rigorous boundaries, and ensuring accurate and reliable data,so as to find the accurate positioning of methods, boundaries and data for urban construction carbon emission accounting, helping the realization of carbon emission reduction targets in the process of urban construction and its management.
